Designed and programmed an interactive augmented reality installation that visualizes music, and lets audience mix between 3 dance tracks by moving within their space. Made in Unity for Magic Leap One AR headset, 2019

Neon. One is a product of experimentation with capabilities of Magic Leap One AR device, while imagining new ways of visualizing music in space, and interacting with sounds in a novel way. What if you could mix tracks like a DJ by merely moving your body in space? What if sound waves became visible to us as their 3-dimensional representations? What if instead of looking at visualization graphics set to music you were standing in the midst of them?

To answer these questions I created an augmented reality installation utilizing Unity and Magic Leap SDK. I added audio-reactivity and virtual proximity tracking to mix synchronized audio tracks and multiple video texture sources, as well as an ever-evolving neon tree that anchors the experience to the room’s center.
